چکیده
Abstract This study is motivated by the need to present a robust methodology for preparing stable methanol-in-diesel emulsions use in compression ignition engines with specific objective of maximizing methanol content. Specifically, it involved exploring feasibility conventional surfactants such as Tween-80 and Span-80 non-conventional 1-dodecanol, pentanol, butanol. The hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) values surfactant were varied from 7 15 investigate role HLB on stability macroemulsion. It observed that macroemulsion an value 10 provides best results. Using 10, three macroemulsions wt.%, 20 wt.% prepared using ultrasonication. However, only was be at least days after preparation. Next, microemulsions diesel-methanol produced Among these, 1-dodecanol found out most suitable owing its ability form any mixing ratio diesel-methanol, high cetane number (63.6). has clearly brought strategies both macro microemulsions. Overall, results presented current work are expected aid efforts adapting fuel blends.

Water-in-diesel emulsions and related systems.
Water-in-diesel emulsions are fuels for regular diesel engines. The advantages of an emulsion fuel are reductions in the emissions of nitrogen oxides and particulate matters, which are both health hazardous, and reduction in fuel consumption due to better burning efficiency. An important aspect is that diesel emulsions can be used without engine modifications. This review presents the influence...

a semi-empirical mathematical model for predicting physical part of ignition delay period in the combustion of direct - injection diesel engines with swirl is developed . this model based on a single droplet evaporation model . the governing equations , namely , equations of droplet motion , heat and mass transfer were solved simultaneously using a rung-kutta step by step unmerical method . the...
Stability of Nonaqueous Emulsions
We examined the stability of emulsions of oil in several nonaqueous polar liquids using commercially available nonionic surfactants. Stable nonaqueous emulsions were only obtained with formamide and dimethylsulfoxide. Hydrogen bonding, and not polarity, appears to be the important factor determining the emulsifying power of a solvent. Ostwald ripening plays a much more important role in the sta...

Two modified methods for assaying sodium diclofenac were developed by GC and HPLC. Diclofenac was converted into methyl ester derivative by methyl iodide in acetone. The ester was extract and subjected to GLC with flame ionization detector. %5 SE-30/chrom W-HP (80-100 mesh) was used as a column in GC. For reversed phase HPLC, the mobile phase was methanol and water (55-45). The separation was p...
